On the morning of August 10^th, Leah and Adam arrived at the hospital to give birth to their daughter Madalynn – but it wasn’t as easy as walking in and having a baby. Leah was induced that morning but after 6 hours of labor with no progress, and some medical concerns for Mom and baby, a C-section was performed.

Leah wasn’t able to see Madalyn right away but she could hear her first sweet cries and it was one of the best sounds she had ever heard. Immediately, before even laying eyes on her, Leah felt an overwhelming sense of love for her and relief that she had finally arrived safe and healthy.

Seeing her for the first time was amazing – she was so beautiful – and well worth the wait. Madalynn is Leah and Adam’s rainbow baby.

Leah was surprised when she first found out she was pregnant. Adam was not. He already had a feeling that it had happened even though there were some past troubles. During the excitement of finding out that Leah was finally pregnant, the couple were also impatient to hold their new bundle of joy in their arms.

Madalynn was incredibly sweet (and sleepy) during her newborn photography session. She was perfect.  For Leah and Adam, the experience was awesome – despite worries that Madalynn would not cooperate or sleep enough – and both were extremely pleased with how the photos turned out.

Leah brought her wedding dress to the session and we were able to photograph some amazing shots with Madalynn laying on it. Leah doesn’t expect Madalynn to wear the dress some day but having that image makes for a wonderfully sentimental photograph.
